Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone has undergone successful eye surgery after facing a serious threat to his eyesight.
On Tuesday, 17 February 2026, the celebrated singer took to his social media platforms to reveal that he had been at risk of losing vision in his right eye. The artist shared a photo showing his eye covered with a plaster following the procedure, confirming that the situation had been urgent.

In an emotional message, Chameleone disclosed that he was “rapidly losing” sight in his right eye and sought immediate medical intervention to prevent permanent damage.
“I thank you Lord for another great morning!! I thank Dr Ludovica Tindebwa Fadr and the entire Kampala Eye Lasik Hospital team for my eye surgery and your hospitality. I was rapidly losing my sight on my right eye. I seek your healing as always, my Lord,” he wrote.
The singer extended special appreciation to Dr Ludovica Tindebwa Fadr and the medical team at Kampala Eye Laser & Lasik Centre for their professionalism and care throughout the procedure.
