Sheilah Gashumba Breaks Silence on Alleged Sextape, Calls It “Cheap Propaganda”

Renowned Ugandan socialite and celebrated events host Sheilah Gashumba has strongly dismissed allegations linking her to a circulating sextape, describing the claims as a calculated smear campaign designed to damage her reputation.

Earlier this week, social media platforms were awash with reports alleging that Gashumba had appeared in a leaked private video. The unverified claims quickly spread across WhatsApp groups and gossip blogs, igniting heated debate online and prompting widespread speculation among users.

However, in a firm response, Sheilah rubbished the reports as false and malicious propaganda orchestrated by individuals intent on tarnishing her name.

According to the media personality, the controversy began when a woman allegedly sourced a screenshot from an adult website featuring a different individual — a woman with short hair and a similar skin complexion — and deliberately shared it in multiple WhatsApp groups while falsely attaching Sheilah’s name to it.

“This is cheap propaganda,” Sheilah reportedly said, questioning the motives of those circulating the claims.

She challenged her critics to provide the full video rather than a single screenshot if they genuinely believed their allegations held weight.

“If you’re so sure it’s me, why only share a screenshot? Share the entire video,” she challenged, suggesting that the selective use of imagery exposes the claims as baseless.

Gashumba further emphasized that she has distinctive physical features that clearly differentiate her from the individual in the screenshot. She pointed out her visible tattoos and the noticeable gap between her teeth — features she says are absent in the circulating image.

The incident has once again sparked conversation around the growing trend of digital character assassination, particularly targeting high-profile female personalities. Critics argue that the rapid spread of unverified content on social media continues to create fertile ground for reputational harm, often with little accountability.

As the controversy unfolds, Sheilah remains defiant, insisting that the allegations are nothing more than a desperate attempt by detractors to pull her down.

Whether the issue fades or escalates may depend largely on how social media users respond — but one thing is certain: Sheilah Gashumba is not staying silent.
