Ugandan music promoter Abitex Musinguzi, popularly known as Abitex Promotions, has finally revealed why his fellow promoter Twizire Norbert, commonly known as Norbert Events, is deeply upset with the celebrated Mayanja Brothers — Weasel, Jose Chameleone, and Pallaso.
Speaking in an interview today, Abitex disclosed that Norbert entered the Ugandan music industry with a massive investment of UGX 500 million (half a billion shillings), which he poured into managing and promoting the three Mayanja brothers.
According to Abitex, despite Norbert’s huge financial commitment, the partnership ended in disappointment and heavy losses. The promoter reportedly did not recover a single shilling from his investment — and instead, the relationship deteriorated dramatically.
“Norbert invested 500 million in the Mayanja brothers — Pallaso, Weasel, and Chameleone — but got nothing in return. He made only losses, and in the end, he was even slapped by Weasel,” Abitex revealed.
Abitex added that the incident left Norbert emotionally scarred and bitter, claiming that the pain and betrayal he suffered from the trio have left lasting wounds.
“The scars on Norbert’s heart caused by the Mayanja brothers will never fade. His pain will never heal, and that’s why he could go to any length to seek revenge,” Abitex added.
The Mayanja family, known for producing some of Uganda’s biggest music stars, has had its share of controversies over the years. However, this revelation adds a new twist to the ongoing tension between promoters and artists in the Ugandan entertainment industry.
As of now, Weasel, Jose Chameleone, and Pallaso have not publicly responded to the allegations.
