Abitex Proposes Sheebah vs Ava Peace Music Battle with UGX 170M Prize Pool

Renowned Ugandan events promoter Abitex has stirred up the entertainment scene by proposing a high-stakes music battle between two of Uganda’s leading female artists — Sheebah Karungi and Ava Peace.

Taking to his social media platforms, Abitex announced that he is willing to offer a staggering UGX 100 million to Sheebah and UGX 70 million to Ava Peace if they agree to face off in a musical showdown, scheduled for January 2026.

“I do not expect any concert in January 2026 because we have a battle between Sheebah Karungi and Ava Peace,” Abitex stated.

The proposal comes amid mounting tension between the two camps, especially after Sheebah’s return from a six-month maternity break. During her absence, critics and fans began comparing the former Team No Sleep queen to Ava Peace, claiming the rising star was now a force to reckon with and possibly dethroning Sheebah.

In response to the comparisons, Ava Peace handled the situation with maturity, stating in several interviews that she had “no problem being compared to Queen Karma,” and even added that she grew up listening to Sheebah’s music.

However, since Sheebah’s comeback, fans have increasingly pitted the two against each other — fueling an unspoken rivalry that could now find its resolution on stage.

Music battles have a long-standing tradition in Uganda's entertainment industry as a way to settle debates on musical superiority. While many fans have embraced the idea of a Sheebah vs Ava Peace showdown, some Sheebaholics (Sheebah’s loyal fanbase) are not taking it lightly. They consider the proposed battle an insult, arguing that Sheebah’s legacy, catalogue, and star power far exceed the need for such comparisons.

Whether the battle will happen or not remains to be seen — but one thing is certain: Abitex has successfully reignited public excitement and debate in Uganda’s music circles.
