Fangone Forest boss Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana, has stirred online buzz after publicly turning down his nomination in the Highskool Awards, saying he wasn’t consulted prior to being listed.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Alien Skin expressed gratitude to the organizing committee for recognizing his impact in the Ugandan music industry, but firmly requested that his name be withdrawn from the list of nominees.
“Dear Hiskool Awards Team. I sincerely appreciate the recognition and the honor of being nominated for the Hiskool Awards. However, I kindly request that you withdraw my name from the list of nominees. In the future, I would appreciate it if my consent is sought before including me in your nominations,” Alien Skin wrote.
The “Sitya Danger” hitmaker, who has consistently made headlines for his bold and unfiltered personality, emphasized the importance of seeking an artist’s permission before including them in such events.
The Highskool Awards celebrate young and influential figures redefining Uganda’s entertainment, business, and media landscapes. Alien Skin had been nominated in the “Best Male Artist” category alongside Ray G, Eddy Kenzo, and King Saha.
Alien’s decision has sparked debate among fans and industry observers, with some praising his integrity while others see it as a missed opportunity for recognition. Regardless, his move once again proves that Alien Skin remains one of the most independent-minded and unpredictable artists in Uganda’s music scene.
