Bobi Wine Extends Support to Families of Imprisoned NUP Members with School Supplies

National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has extended a hand of support to families of the party’s imprisoned members by donating scholastic materials and essential school items.

The initiative took place today at his home, where different families were hosted and given supplies to help their children prepare for the new school term.

In a message shared on his official platforms, Kyagulanyi explained that the gesture was a show of solidarity with families whose loved ones remain incarcerated for their political beliefs. He stressed that many NUP supporters who are behind bars were the sole providers for their households, leaving their families vulnerable.

“We shall always stand with our people, especially those who continue to suffer persecution for believing in change. While their loved ones are in jail, we must ensure their children’s future is not disrupted,” Kyagulanyi said.

Relatives of the detained NUP members welcomed the support, noting that it had eased the heavy burden of school requirements at a time of rising financial strain.

Bobi Wine reaffirmed his commitment to fight for the freedom of all political prisoners, urging Ugandans to remain united and steadfast in the pursuit of justice and democracy.
