The National Unity Platform (NUP), led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has officially launched its Western Region Headquarters in the heart of Mbarara City at Independence Park. The unveiling marks a historic milestone for Uganda’s leading opposition party as it strengthens its presence in the western part of the country.
According to party officials, the property was purchased over a year ago, after which NUP embarked on constructing modern offices to coordinate activities in the region. The headquarters will now serve as the official base for NUP’s political and administrative operations across Western Uganda.
“Fellow citizens, today we unveil the National Unity Platform Headquarters for Western Region. We purchased this place over one year ago and embarked on constructing these offices. We’re glad that from today, our regional operations will be coordinated from here. We are the National Unity Platform!” the party declared during the launch.
The move is seen as a strategic step in decentralizing NUP’s operations and strengthening its grassroots structures ahead of future political engagements. Party leaders emphasized that the new headquarters will not only streamline activities but also act as a hub for mobilization, civic education, and youth empowerment.
The launch attracted attention from both supporters and political observers, signaling NUP’s determination to expand its footprint beyond its traditional strongholds. With the new Mbarara office, the party says it is ready to engage citizens more closely and provide a platform for political dialogue in Western Uganda.
