“Cindy Has Taught Me So Much” – Spice Diana Opens Up About Her Love and Respect for Cindy Sanyu

Award-winning musician Spice Diana has publicly lauded fellow artist Cindy Sanyu, praising her as an inspirational icon and mentor whose influence has greatly shaped her music career.

The touching tribute came during Cindy’s recent press conference ahead of her highly anticipated concert. Spice Diana was among the artists who turned up to show support, expressing deep admiration for Cindy’s journey, talent, and character.

“I love you Cindy, and you know that,” Spice Diana said. “One thing about Cindy is that she doesn’t jump on everyone — and that’s a good thing. She doesn’t do it out of dislike, but to protect her space. When she loves, she does it genuinely. She may not always show it openly, but every time we meet, she’s always been positive and nice to me.”

Describing Cindy as “the past, the present, and the future,” Spice Diana acknowledged that her own stage presence and attitude were shaped by watching Cindy perform live during the early days of her career.

“Cindy has always been my artist. If you look at my interviews from the beginning, I’ve always mentioned her. The way she commands the stage during live band performances inspired me to learn how to do it properly,” she said. “The new attitude and professionalism I carry now — I’ve learned that from her.”

Spice Diana also emphasized Cindy's rare quality of authenticity in an industry often clouded by pretense. “She’s real, and when she supports you, it’s from the heart. That kind of energy is what we need more of in our industry,” she added.

Though Spice Diana revealed she won’t be in the country during Cindy’s upcoming concert, she made it a point to support in her own way. She purchased tickets for members of her Spice Gadgets team to attend and cheer on Cindy at the event.

“Even if I won’t be physically present, I’m there in spirit. Cindy deserves all the support because she’s earned it with her hard work, consistency, and talent,” she said.

The mutual respect between the two female powerhouses reflects a growing trend of unity and empowerment among Uganda’s female musicians. Spice Diana’s words have further ignited anticipation for Cindy Sanyu’s concert, which promises to be a celebration of talent, growth, and legacy.
