Cristiano Ronaldo Misses a penalty as Portugal Beat Ireland, 1-0 in Injury Time

Ruben Neves scores last minute against Ireland to clinch all 3 points in a dramatic 1-0 win. This victory extends Portugal's winning streak in the World cup qualifiers and preserves it's spot at the top of Group F standings.

Portugal applied a lot of pressure on the visitors at the Estadio Jose Alvalade but couldn't make it count in the first half of the game. Ireland's defense was amazing and worked hard to contain Portugal's incessant attacks. An effort by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 17th minute, hit the post, denying the Portuguese from taking the lead.

In the second half, Portugal was stronger and increased more pressure on Ireland, which resulted in a penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo took the shot but it was saved by Gaoimhin Keller in the 75th minute.

As the game neared stoppage time, Ruben Neves broke Ireland's heart with the winning goal. It was an emotional moment; his first international goal and a tribute to Diogo Jota, a Liverpool player and close friend who died in July in a car accident. The last-minute win means Ireland is staying at the bottom of the standings with only one point.
