Singer Daxx Kartel has credited fellow artist Tip Swizzy as one of the key forces behind the rise of B2C Entertainment, one of Uganda’s most successful music trios.
According to Daxx Kartel, B2C’s Bobby Lash had humble beginnings, working as a vendor in Makindye, where he supplied outfits to several artists in the entertainment industry. His journey into music, however, took a major turn after meeting Tip Swizzy.
Daxx Kartel revealed that Tip Swizzy later introduced Bobby Lash to him, describing him as a talented fashionista who had the eye and hustle to source stylish outfits from downtown Kampala for music video shoots.
“We wouldn’t know who B2C is if it weren’t for Tip Swizzy. He introduced Bobby Lash and even gave me his song, saying he had other friends who were not as selfless as him,” Daxx Kartel said.
He added that Tip Swizzy strongly believed in Bobby Lash and his friends, predicting their success long before they became household names.
“Tip Swizzy told me they had the potential to be some of the big stars. Right now, they are among the big talents we have, and they are successful,” he added.
Tip Swizzy’s Impact on Uganda’s Music and Fashion Scene
Beyond music, Daxx Kartel described Tip Swizzy as one of the biggest trendsetters Uganda’s music industry has ever seen. He revealed that at the peak of Tip Swizzy’s career, many artists and fans closely followed his fashion sense and signature hairstyles.
“Everyone would look out for the outfits he came dressed in and his haircut that swept Kampala by storm. We all started cutting mohawks like him. That is how impactful he was,” Daxx Kartel explained.
He further revealed that Tip Swizzy’s generosity went beyond mentorship, noting that he sometimes topped up Daxx Kartel’s share of money to help complete music video projects.
“He even topped up on my share of the money for our videos. I don’t know what to say about him,” he added.
Daxx Kartel’s remarks have sparked renewed appreciation for Tip Swizzy’s influence, highlighting his role not only in shaping careers like B2C Entertainment, but also in leaving a lasting mark on Uganda’s music and fashion culture.
