Diddy Prosecutor Slams Rapper for Allegedly Booking Speaking Events Ahead of Sentencing

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Faces Up to 20 Years in Prison as Judge Weighs Sentence

Sean “Diddy” Combs has appeared in a New York courtroom today (Friday, October 3) for his sentencing, just months after being convicted of transporting people across state lines for sexual encounters. The hip-hop mogul, 55, faces a possible prison term of up to 20 years.

In July, a jury acquitted Diddy of the more severe charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which could have carried a life sentence. However, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following six weeks of emotional testimony.

Prosecution vs. Defense: Sentencing Battle

Federal prosecutors have urged US District Judge Arun Subramanian to impose a minimum sentence of 11 years. In stark contrast, Diddy’s legal team has argued for a far lighter punishment, pushing for no more than 14 months.

On the eve of his sentencing, the Bad Boy Records founder penned a letter to Judge Subramanian, asking for leniency. In the letter, Combs admitted to being “broken to my core,” claiming he has been “reborn” during his time behind bars. He also acknowledged that the haunting memory of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, “plays over and over in my head daily.”

Prosecutor’s Shocking Claim: Diddy Booked Miami Events

During Friday’s court hearing, prosecutor Christy Slavik made a surprising revelation that has sparked widespread backlash. According to The New York Times, Slavik alleged that Diddy had already booked speaking engagements in Miami scheduled for next week—despite the looming threat of a lengthy prison sentence.

Slavik described the move as “the height of hubris,” suggesting the rapper was acting as though he would walk free.

Social Media Reacts

The revelation has ignited a wave of criticism online. One person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote:

“If this is true that Diddy booked speaking engagements for Miami for next week, then his lawyers should hang their heads in shame. Beyond stupid to allow that to happen!”

Another user mocked the rapper’s alleged confidence:

“What a clown move. He assumed he’d be getting out because people have been paid to lie to this fool his whole adult life.”

Others echoed disbelief, with one user simply writing:

“Booking speaking engagements is wild.”

What Happens Next

As sentencing unfolds, all eyes remain on Judge Subramanian to determine whether the rap mogul will serve over a decade behind bars, or walk away with a drastically reduced sentence.

For now, the shocking claim that Diddy was preparing for public appearances just days after his sentencing has only deepened the controversy surrounding one of hip-hop’s most high-profile trials in recent years.
