FIFA has directed Angolan midfielder Carlos Da Silva Cungulo, popularly known as Gui, to pay KCCA FC a total of $4,000 after being found guilty of breach of contract and absconding from duty.
Gui signed a two-year deal with the Kasasiro Boys in July 2023, but the player reportedly went AWOL midway through last season, leaving the Ugandan Premier League side without any official communication.
In the ruling issued by FIFA’s Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, Emilio García Silvero, Gui was given 45 days from the notification of the decision to settle the payment in full.
Failure to comply within the given period will see the midfielder face a ban from participating in official matches until the outstanding amount is cleared.
The decision underscores FIFA’s growing stance on contractual discipline and player accountability, ensuring that clubs and players alike honor their professional obligations.
