A former congregant, identified as Kadama, has publicly accused Prophet Joseph Tumusime, the lead pastor of Rivers of Life Miracle Center in Matugga, of allegedly forcing her into a sexual relationship despite being married.
Kadama revealed that her connection with Pastor Tumusime began while she was in Saudi Arabia. She reportedly came across a video of the pastor, which prompted her to follow him on social media. Upon returning to Uganda, she visited his church in Matugga, and the two became close.
According to her account, strange and recurring dreams started troubling her, prompting her to seek one-on-one prayers from the pastor for guidance. However, their interactions allegedly took a romantic turn, leading to what Kadama described as “adulthood games.” She claims that despite her initial hesitation due to the pastor’s marital status, the sexual relationship continued for several occasions.
Kadama further alleges that Pastor Tumusime eventually ended the relationship, leaving her to raise the child they had together.
This revelation has sparked conversations about ethics, accountability, and misconduct within religious institutions.
Efforts to reach Pastor Joseph Tumusime for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
