The Ugandan music fraternity is in mourning following the untimely death of renowned singer Olisha M, real name Olivia Mildred Namubiru, who reportedly passed away on her way to give birth at Mengo Hospital in Kampala.
Olisha M had established herself as one of Uganda’s fast-rising female musicians, admired for her powerful vocals, lyrical depth, and stage charm. Her musical journey inspired many young artists who looked up to her determination and passion for the craft.

Beyond her artistry, Olisha M was a devoted wife and mother. She tied the knot with her husband Mutassim in July 2024, a memorable celebration that captured public attention. The couple had two children together and were eagerly expecting their third at the time of her passing.
Tragically, Olisha M lost her life while being rushed to Mengo Hospital to deliver her baby. News of her death has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s entertainment circles, with tributes pouring in across social media platforms from fans, fellow artists, and industry stakeholders.

“We’ve lost a beautiful soul and one of the most promising voices in our industry,” one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).
As of now, burial arrangements have not yet been communicated, but family and close friends have requested privacy as they come to terms with the loss.
