Ugandan female emcee Adele Kiele has pulled no punches, revealing the dirty secret of sexual exploitation targeting women in the music industry.
In a candid chat with Truth Media, Adele, whose hype and stage energy have made her a household name, spoke about the harsh realities female performers face just to get gigs.
“Chewing us and refusing to pay. I say this with authority because it happens all the time. You want a gig, and you don’t give in sexually to someone? They can ban your name from that area, and you’ll never work there again,” Adele revealed.
She added that while bars are the only spots paying cash on the spot, most concerts and shows offer nothing but promises of “exposure,” leaving female emcees vulnerable to harassment and manipulation.

“Only bars pay well because they hand over paychecks immediately, but other gigs? You risk everything and get nothing. Exploitation is everywhere,” she said.
Adele’s words expose a dark underbelly of the Ugandan music scene, where women are pressured to trade their bodies for work, and powerful gig plugs hold careers hostage.
“If you want to survive in this industry, you either give in or get blocked. That’s the ugly truth,” she emphasized.
Now, Adele Kiele is standing up, calling for respect, fair pay, and safer spaces for women, and demanding that the industry stops turning female talent into a playground for sexual abuse.
“We’re artists, not toys. It’s time the industry values us for our talent, not our bodies,” she concluded.
