“I’m Not Shaking Because of Chameleone” – Fik Fameica Speaks Out on Concert Date Clash

“I’m Not Shaking Because of Chameleone” – Fik Fameica Speaks Out on Concert Date Clash

It’s official — August 5th will be one for the books in Uganda’s music scene.

Two of Uganda’s biggest stars, Fik Fameica and Dr. Jose Chameleone, are going head-to-head with massive concerts scheduled for the same day, and the internet has been buzzing non-stop.

While Chameleone is set to shut down Kololo Independence Grounds with his ‘Legendary Legacy’ concert, Fik Fameica will be storming Lugogo Cricket Oval with his ‘King Kong’ show. And naturally, fans have been debating who made the better choice, and whether Fik should feel threatened by the legendary Chameleone.

But Fik Fameica isn’t breaking a sweat.

“Chameleone and I have no problem,” Fik said in an interview. “We’re even working on something together. When I first saw the poster, I thought it was a joke. I didn’t take it seriously. But even if he’s really doing the show, I’m not scared. We all have our people.”

When asked directly if he’s intimidated by Chameleone’s decision to stage his concert on the same night, Fik doubled down — with confidence.

“I respect Chameleone, but I don’t fear him in a way that makes me tremble or panic just because he set his concert for the same date as mine. I’ve promoted my show for a full year. Why should I cancel it now? He’s a legend, yes — but I’m also a star, and I have my audience.”

Fik’s response is a reminder that Uganda’s music industry has room for multiple giants — and that competition doesn’t mean beef. The rapper made it clear that he's focused on delivering an unforgettable show for his fans and won't be swayed by date politics.

With two major concerts happening on the same night in Kampala, all roads will either lead to Kololo or Lugogo. The big question now is — where will you be?

One thing’s certain: August 5th is not a night any Ugandan music lover will want to miss.
