Kaitesi Gold Viv Explains Move From Kampala to Nigeria: “I Needed Real Competition”

Ugandan digital creator and entertainer Kaitesi Gold Viv has opened up about her relocation from Kampala to Nigeria, stating that the decision was not driven by fear or pressure, but by a desire to grow her craft in a more competitive creative environment.

According to Kaitesi, her rise in Uganda’s content-creation space left her with limited room for further challenge. She revealed that moving to Nigeria—Africa’s entertainment powerhouse—was a strategic step toward pushing her boundaries and increasing her creative reach.

“I relocated from Kampala to Nigeria not because of fear,” she said. “It’s just that no one in Uganda was in my league of content creation. I had to move to find my real competition.”

Despite being miles away from home, Kaitesi maintains that she still ranks among the top digital creators in Uganda, emphasizing that her move has only amplified her brand across the continent.

Kaitesi also noted that her close proximity to major industry players in Lagos has elevated her career even further. “If I’m rubbing shoulders with Don Jazzy every day, who in Uganda is in the league of Don Jazzy?” she remarked, highlighting the scale and influence of Nigeria’s entertainment ecosystem.

Her relocation marks another step in the ongoing trend of East African artists and influencers seeking wider audiences across Africa’s largest creative markets. With her growing network in Nigeria, Kaitesi Gold Viv is positioning herself among the rising continental voices in digital entertainment.
