Kapiliti’s Studio Session With Akon Resurfaces, Sparks Excitement Among Ugandan Fans

For years, Ugandan rapper Kapiliti, real name Muhammad Mukoza, has proudly carried the Ugandan flag beyond borders — performing internationally since his early days as a child artist.

Over the weekend, new footage made rounds online showing Kapiliti in the studio with global star Akon and his team, reviewing some of the young rapper’s previous projects. The clips sparked a wave of excitement and debate among Ugandan music lovers.

In the videos, Akon and his producers appear impressed by Kapiliti’s work, nodding in approval as they listen to his songs. The scenes have reignited hope that Uganda’s fast-rising talent could soon collaborate with one of Africa’s biggest exports in the global music industry.

However, not everyone is convinced. Some online users believe the clips are from an older session, questioning what became of the highly-anticipated Akon–Kapiliti collaboration that was hinted at years ago.

Despite the uncertainty, one thing remains clear — Kapiliti’s global connections and consistent hustle continue to put Uganda on the map, inspiring many young creatives chasing the international spotlight.
