Erling Haaland’s 58th and 63rd minute goals drowned Everton at the Etihad stadium on October 19, taking his premier league’s goal tally to 11 for the season. The win extends Man city’s unbeaten run to eight matches in all competitions.
The game was quiet throughout the first half, with no team scoring a goal. Erling Haaland drew the first blood with a powerful header on the 58th minute and followed with a left-footed shot 5 minutes later. And that was it for the day!
Pep Guardiola, though pleased with the results expressed concern that other players should also score, such that the team doesn’t rely on only Erling Haaland for goals.
“Disappointed he did not score four or five. All jokes aside, really pleased, but we can not rely on just him, we need other players. Wingers, attacking midfielders. They have to make a step up and score. The chances were clear and they have to score. At this level they have to demand themselves. Chances from Savinho and Jérémy [Doku] and Tijjani [Reijnders]. They have to do it, otherwise we can’t do what we want to do.” He said.
The win puts the citizens second on the table standings, three points behind leaders-Arsenal.
