Manchester City secures a hard-fought victory over Brentford

Erling Haaland continued his goal scoring streak when he struck past Caoinhin Keller, giving the cityzens a lead at the Gtech stadium on 5th October, 2025. Pep Guardiola's side were nothing more than impressive, they took control of the game and possessed the ball far more than the home team.

While the visitors created several chances, Brentford were defensively solid. They contained the ever-mounting pressure with a lot of composure and confidence, ensuring that mistakes are avoided to keep the cityzen's lethal attacks at bay.

In the second half of the game, City didn't exert as much pressure as it were in the beginning of the match. They sort of sat back, slowed down a little bit, and kept the home side under control.

The final 45 minutes of the game was largely uneventful, Manchester city only attempted one shot all that while.

Haland's goal allows City to secure a win at the Gtech stadium, extending their unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions. Erling Haaland is on a goal scoring spree, he now has nine goals in only seven premier league games this 2025/26 season.

Victory at Brentford brings Pep Guardiola's winning tally at City to 250, making him the quickest coach to reach that milestone in 349 games. While the win keeps spirits high at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola will have to contend with the fact that Rodri could be out of action for a while, after picking an injury in the 21st minute of the game.
