In a notable public statement, Minister Balaaam has advised Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, to explore a role in government rather than continuing in active politics.
Addressing the musician-turned-politician, Minister Balaaam suggested that Bobi Wine could make a significant impact working alongside H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, particularly in areas such as ghetto transformation, music, and cultural development.

“Honorable @HEBobiWine, my humble advice to you as one of Uganda's music stars: consider applying for a deployment in government and working alongside H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni,” Minister Balaaam wrote. “With your story of overcoming adversity, you could be a valuable asset to Uganda’s cultural and social programs.”
He further encouraged Bobi Wine to engage with key government figures, including the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Assignments and the Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to explore opportunities to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Hon. Kyagulanyi, it’s time to move on from politics — your true calling lies elsewhere. Leave the political scene to the seasoned leader, Mzee Museveni,” Minister Balaaam added, concluding with a local expression of unity and respect: “Muganda wange jangu tuwereze egwanga, Mzee Museveni musaja mulungi nyoooo dala.”

Bobi Wine, a celebrated musician and outspoken political activist, has historically held a strong oppositional stance in Uganda’s political landscape. Minister Balaaam’s advice suggests that redirecting his influence toward government-backed social and cultural initiatives could open a new chapter in his public service.
The statement has sparked debate online, with Ugandans sharing mixed opinions about the idea of Bobi Wine stepping away from politics to serve in a government capacity.
