Mr. Henrie and Timo Pon D’Chat Join NRG Radio After Quitting Galaxy FM

Celebrated media personality Mr. Henrie and top audio producer Timo Pon D’Chat have officially joined NRG Radio Uganda, shortly after Mr. Henrie’s highly publicized exit from Galaxy FM. The move marks a major milestone in both their careers and in NRG Radio’s mission to shape youth culture and redefine entertainment across Africa.

Known for his authenticity, depth, and strong connection with audiences, Mr. Henrie has long been one of Uganda’s most influential radio voices. His transition to NRG Radio signals a bold new chapter — one rooted in innovation, creativity, and pan-African ambition.

“This for me is about growth,” said Mr. Henrie. “I needed a space that matches my future ambitions, a brand that challenges me to think bigger and connect wider. NRG Radio provides that platform. It’s bold, fresh, and aligns perfectly with the direction I’m growing into.”

According to NRG Radio Strategy Lead, Julius Kyazze, Mr. Henrie’s addition reflects the station’s broader vision of redefining African mainstream entertainment and amplifying youth voices.

“We’re witnessing an African takeover, from sound to storytelling. Africa is setting the global pace, and NRG is at the heart of that movement,” said Kyazze. “Bringing in talent like Mr. Henrie strengthens our mission to drive culture forward — not just for Uganda, but for a new Africa that’s loud, confident, and globally influential.”

NRG Radio continues to stand out for its 360° cultural approach, blending music, lifestyle, digital content, and live experiences to create spaces where young Africans feel seen, heard, and represented. Through high-energy activations, youth festivals, and cross-border collaborations, the station remains a leader in youth-driven storytelling and innovation.

In a parallel move, NRG Radio is also expanding its creative production department with the addition of Timothy Jjumba Omar, popularly known as Timo Pon D’Chat — one of Uganda’s most respected audio producers and radio imaging experts.

“We’re about to change the sound of radio,” said Timo Pon D’Chat. “Joining a brand with a global outlook like NRG is truly exciting. With over 13 years of experience in production and mentorship, I’m ready to bring new sound, new energy, and real magic to the airwaves.”

Kyazze emphasized that this double appointment symbolizes NRG’s commitment to investing in people who can move culture forward.

“Henrie brings voice, influence, and depth; Timo brings creativity and innovation. Together, they represent the next generation of African media talent,” he said.
