“Mun G Admits Serena Hotel Concert Left Him in Debt Despite Full House”

Ugandan rapper Mun G has opened up about the financial struggles behind his recently concluded concert at Serena Hotel, Kampala, on August 30th, revealing that the event, while successful in terms of attendance and entertainment, left him deep in debt.

Speaking candidly after the show, Mun G confessed that he failed to break even despite the buzz and positive feedback from fans.

“I have big debts. I didn’t get any money. Those who are demanding, kindly bear with me. I didn’t break even, but people had fun and that’s what matters most,” he said.

The rapper explained that organizing a concert at a high-end venue like Serena Hotel requires significant investment, making it a risky venture for many artists. He even admitted that, given the financial stress, he would not want his son to join the music industry.

Despite the setback, Mun G expressed optimism for the future, promising to manage his next concert more strategically to ensure profitability.

He also praised fellow rapper Fik Fameica for his recent successful show, noting that 2025 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Uganda’s hip-hop scene.

Mun G’s candid remarks come shortly after he mourned the passing of his grandmother, making the Serena concert an emotionally charged milestone in his music journey.
