Reports claim banks may move to sell family property over unpaid campaign loans, but singer yet to comment
Musician-turned-politician Nina Kankunda, popularly known as Nina Roz, is reportedly going through a difficult period following her defeat in the Sembabule District Woman Member of Parliament race.
Nina Roz, who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, finished third in a tightly contested election that was eventually won by NRM’s Florence Nambazira.
Alleged Loans and Financial Pressure
According to unverified reports circulating online, the singer is allegedly facing serious financial challenges, with banks said to be preparing to auction properties belonging to her family in Sembabule to recover unpaid loans.
Sources claim that during the peak of her campaign, Nina Roz allegedly acquired multiple loans totaling over UGX 100 million to finance her parliamentary bid. The reported plan was to repay the loans after securing a seat in Parliament — a strategy that allegedly collapsed following her electoral loss.
It is further alleged that her father acted as a guarantor, using family land as collateral, a move that has reportedly put the properties at risk as lenders seek to recover their money.

Claims Yet to Be Verified
By the time of publication, Kelele UG had not independently verified these claims. Efforts to reach Nina Roz for an official comment were unsuccessful.
As of now, the singer has not publicly addressed the reports, leaving fans and followers speculating about the true state of her finances following her foray into active politics.
