Ugandan singer and media personality Rickman Manrick delivered a show-stopping performance in the ring on Saturday night, knocking out socialite Shakib Cham in just the second round of their celebrity boxing bout at MTN Arena, Lugogo.
In front of a packed and electric crowd, Rickman showed superior boxing skills and composure, landing a powerful combination that left Shakib unconscious on the canvas — his much-hyped debut ending in silence. The referee called the match immediately as medics rushed in, while Shakib’s wife, Zari Hassan, looked on from ringside. Zari had been cheering him on throughout the match and was later seen comforting him after the devastating loss.
In the weeks leading up to the fight, Shakib’s camp made big noise, with fans confidently warning Rickman that Shakib — allegedly “sent by Sheilah Gashumba” (Rickman's ex) — was coming to finish him off in the ring.
