Her unique delivery, heartfelt worship, and endearing personality made her an online sensation. The song, sometimes humorously misquoted as “Burudi of Jesus,” became a cultural phenomenon, blending deep spiritual conviction with raw authenticity that endeared her to millions.

Despite her rising fame, Gogo was reportedly battling chronic health issues in the background. Close sources suggest that she had been in and out of medical care over the past several months. Her condition worsened in late August, leading to her death on the morning of September 4, 2025.

News of her passing has triggered a flood of tributes on social media. Fans, fellow musicians, pastors, and gospel lovers from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, and the global gospel community have shared heartfelt condolences, thanking Gogo for using her voice to uplift and inspire.

“She was more than a singer. She was a vessel of God’s joy. Her legacy will live in every soul touched by her music,” wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter).
