Sean Diddy pleads for a presidential pardon from Trump

In March 2024, US. federal investigators made a series of raids on Sean DiddyCombs’ properties in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami, and collected substantial evidences which led to his subsequent arrest On September 16, 2024, in Manhattan by US Homeland Security investigators, being accused of several charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

 He was however acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, but the jury found him guilty of two minor prostitution offenses, which carries a sentence of more than 4 years.

The Hip Hop mogul was sentenced to more than 4 years in prison despite showing remorse in court. Although He asked for forgiveness from the victims and his family, and pleaded with court that his actions were disgusting and shameful, the judge wasn’t lenient.

Consequently, Sean Combs reached out to president Trump for a presidential pardon. Donald Trump confirmed it while addressing journalists at the Oval Office on October 6.

“A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him puff daddy; he has asked me for a pardon,” said Trump.

Article II of the US constitution, section 2, grants the president the authority to grant pardons for offenses against the US, with the exception of impeachment.

On the first day of his second term as US president, Trump granted clemency to 1600 people arrested for crimes related to January 6 attack on the capitol building.

Reports indicate that the president is considering pardoning Sean Combs.
