Ugandan songstress Sheebah Karungi has launched a fiery attack on her former manager Jeff Kiwa, accusing him of orchestrating an online smear campaign against her through paid bloggers.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of her highly anticipated âReturn of The Queenâ concert, Sheebah addressed the growing tension between her and Team No Sleep (TNS), the label she once called home.
The rift, she revealed, has been fueled by a dispute over the ownership of a song titled âNobodyâ. Both Sheebah and TNS artists claim rights to the track, with Sheebah insisting that Jeff Kiwa âstoleâ it from her and has been using bloggers to escalate the feud.
âEven when you attack those that came before you, it will only give you 15 minutes of fame, but it wonât secure you a permanent place in the industry,â Sheebah warned. âThereâs no point going to the studio and stealing my songs.â
She made it clear that the song would be released when she deems fit, reaffirming her ownership:
âLast time I checked, you said you were the pro. I donât know what you were looking for in the amateurâs library. I promise you, that song will be released because it is my song.â
Sheebah also offered a word of caution to Ava Peace, one of Jeff Kiwaâs current signees who has openly admired her in the past.
âEveryone walks their own journey; there are no shortcuts. You might look at Sheebah yet you could have done better. Stop focusing on my pathâyouâll only lose yours.â
The âReturn of The Queenâ concert is set to mark Sheebahâs big stage comeback, and with this latest war of words, the music industry is watching closely to see how the drama unfolds.
