Ugandan singer and entrepreneur Sheebah Karungi has once again shown her deep gratitude and love for her mother after officially handing over a newly built house to her in Mityana.
During the emotional handover ceremony last night, Sheebah opened up about a painful childhood memory that has stayed with her for decades.
“I watched my mum being thrown out of our house over rent worth just 8,000 UGX. I was about five years old. That memory still hurts,” Sheebah shared.
The award-winning artist said the experience pushed her to work hard and break the cycle of poverty that her family endured. Building a home for her mother, she added, has always been one of her biggest dreams.
Sheebah’s gesture has since drawn widespread praise from fans and fellow celebrities, who applauded her for honoring the woman who raised her under difficult circumstances.
The newly constructed home is a symbol not only of love but also of Sheebah’s journey from a challenging childhood to becoming one of Uganda’s most successful entertainers.
