Ugandan singer and politician Nubian Li may be facing trouble at home after his wife, Shiko Mutoni, shared a series of shocking posts on Facebook suggesting their marriage could be over.
In one post, Shiko wrote:
“FROM TODAY AM SINGLE, IT MARKS THE END OF MY RELATIONSHIP.”
Another post followed with the simple line:
“IT IS WHAT IT IS.”
The cryptic messages have left many Ugandans wondering: has the couple really split up, or was her account hacked?
The drama comes at a politically tense time. Just after the posts, Shiko’s account shared a campaign poster of her boss, Mayor Paul Mugambe, who was recently removed as the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer in the Nakawa division. In his place, NUP is now supporting Nubian Li—her husband.
Shiko Mutoni is the Deputy Mayor of Nakawa, which makes this more than just a family issue—it’s now tangled with politics. Some people believe the posts might be linked to political frustration rather than personal problems.
Shiko and Nubian Li, whose real name is Buken Ali, have been together for years and officially married in 2021 in a ceremony attended by many political and music industry figures.
So far, neither of them has officially spoken out about the posts. Some fans say it could be a misunderstanding or even a hacked account, while others think there’s real trouble between the two.
For now, the truth remains unclear—but what’s certain is that this story has captured the attention of both fans and political watchers across Uganda.
