Solomon Kampala Apologizes for Offensive Remarks Following Alleged Attack on Barbie Kyagulanyi

Bobi Wine and Barbie Kyagulanyi’s elder son, Solomon Kampala, has issued a public apology after coming under criticism for his harsh and offensive remarks made during an alleged raid on their Magere home.

Earlier this week, Barbie Kyagulanyi publicly condemned the army, accusing security operatives of forcefully invading her home in Magere. According to her account, the officers allegedly vandalized property, confiscated important documents and electronic gadgets, and left her injured. She was reportedly admitted to hospital a day later due to injuries sustained during the incident.

At the height of the incident, Solomon Kampala took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to express his anger and frustration. In the emotional posts, he used indecent language and addressed Ugandans in a manner many found disrespectful. The posts quickly sparked backlash on social media.

In a statement issued later, Solomon admitted fault and apologized to the public for his conduct, attributing his remarks to overwhelming emotions at the time.

“I realize it was wrong, and I apologize. I hope you all will understand that it was short-lived anger and frustration. I also want to appreciate all of you who responded to my distress call last night when my mother was under attack at home,” Solomon Kampala wrote.

The apology has since drawn mixed reactions online, with some Ugandans accepting it and others urging public figures and their families to exercise restraint, especially during moments of national tension.

As of now, security authorities have not issued an official statement addressing the alleged raid or the claims raised by the Kyagulanyi family.
