The shores of Sundiata Resort Beach came alive this weekend with a spectacular blend of fashion, music, and mystery as the resort unveiled Uganda’s first-ever Halloween Fashion Experience — an electrifying celebration that fused global Halloween culture with Ugandan creativity.
The event, themed “Fashion Meets Fear”, was designed to introduce Ugandans to the Halloween experience in a fresh, stylish, and entertaining way. From elaborate costumes and spooky-themed décor to a glamorous fashion showcase, the night offered guests an unforgettable blend of art, culture, and thrill under the moonlit Entebbe skies.
A New Concept for Uganda’s Entertainment Scene

While Halloween has long been a celebrated tradition in Western cultures — marked by costumes, trick-or-treating, and themed parties — this event marks one of the first major Halloween fashion experiences in Uganda, merging cultural curiosity with local creativity. The initiative reflects the country’s growing appetite for diverse, global entertainment trends and the evolution of Uganda’s fashion and lifestyle scene.
Organizers at Sundiata Resort Beach say the goal is to make Halloween not just about costumes but about creative expression through fashion and modeling, providing a platform for designers, stylists, and models to showcase their talent in a new and exciting context.
Star-Studded Guest List

The event attracted a lineup of Uganda’s top entertainers and influencers, including Peter Miles, Sheila Gashumba, Douglas Lwanga, and Ahamed Shali. Their presence added a touch of glamour and star power, drawing fans and media attention across the country.
Attendees arrived in imaginative costumes inspired by gothic, fantasy, and horror aesthetics, turning the venue into a living runway of spooky elegance. The fashion show featured both local and emerging designers, each interpreting Halloween in unique and creative ways — from high-fashion vampire looks to avant-garde monster couture.
Fashion, Music, and Creativity Collide
The Halloween Fashion Experience blended fashion showcases with live DJ sets, dance performances, and interactive costume competitions, keeping the energy high throughout the night. Guests were treated to themed cocktails, bonfires, and beachside entertainment — offering a one-of-a-kind social experience on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Event co-organizer Ahamed Shali shared that the concept aims to “bring something new, fun, and culturally engaging to Uganda’s entertainment calendar — where fashion and lifestyle meet imagination.”
Understanding Halloween
Halloween, celebrated globally every October 31st, originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people believed the boundary between the living and the dead became blurred. Traditionally, people lit bonfires and wore costumes to ward off spirits — a practice that evolved into the modern Halloween festivities seen today, characterized by costume parties, trick-or-treating, and themed events.
By hosting Uganda’s first major Halloween fashion experience, Sundiata Resort Beach aims to blend these international traditions with African creativity, showcasing how global culture can be reinterpreted through a local lens.
