Popular TikToker and aspiring politician, CB Talker (real name: Onjeyo Joshua), has officially missed out on receiving the National Unity Platform (NUP) endorsement for the position of Lord Councillor in Makindye West. Despite his active campaigning and ground efforts, CB Talker expressed disappointment but accepted the decision with grace, pledging unwavering loyalty to the party's leadership and mission.
For several months, CB Talker worked diligently on the ground, rallying local support, sharing campaign posters, and frequently visiting the NUP headquarters in Kavule. His candidacy was met with enthusiasm from many of his followers, who were hopeful for his endorsement. However, as the party began issuing official communications this week, it became clear that his efforts would not secure him the much-coveted nomination.
On his Facebook page, CB Talker expressed his frustration, stating, “Seriously, they have not announced me as flag bearer for Makindye West. They told us to do the ground work, and everything was done. I accept the fact and am not doing an appeal.” He also extended an apology to his supporters for any disappointment caused, acknowledging the high expectations placed on him.
Despite this setback, CB Talker reaffirmed his commitment to the NUP’s core values and mission, encouraging his followers to remain positive, united, and motivated. "We may not have gotten the endorsement, but we stand by the NUP leadership," he said. “The journey continues.”
This announcement comes as the party begins its official endorsement process for candidates vying for various positions in the upcoming elections. Many individuals, including CB Talker, had put their hopes on the NUP flagbearer status. With the announcement of nominations, further disappointment is anticipated for those who have not been selected.
CB Talker’s supporters have flooded social media with messages of support, reassuring the aspiring councillor that they remain behind him, regardless of the outcome.
