Tororo’s Own T.Town Boy aka Ricky Odrey: Dreaming Big and Sharing Japadhola Culture With the World

Ricky Odrey, popularly known as T.Town Boy, is a rising Ugandan artist with a heart full of dreams and a mission to share his roots with the world. Born in Tororo, raised in Entebbe, and shaped by life in Kampala, Ricky’s journey is a story of passion, perseverance, and love for music.

Ricky started in music humbly, working as a songwriter and backup artist at Dr Fizo Studio in 2014. He collaborated with stars like Geosteady, learning the ropes of the industry while quietly perfecting his craft. But it wasn’t until 2023 that he stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist, ready to share his own voice with the world.

What sets T.Town Boy apart is how he weaves Japadhola, Luganda, and English into his songs. “Music is my way of telling the world where I come from,” he says. “I want people to hear Japadhola, feel it, and connect with it, no matter where they are.” Through his music, he hopes to bring Tororo and Japadhola culture to the global stage, showing that local stories can resonate everywhere.

Some of his standout tracks include “Pere”, a lively song blending traditional Ugandan rhythms with modern beats, and “Mercy”, a touching ballad about love, resilience, and life’s challenges. Each song reflects a part of his life, his community, and his dreams, making his music not just entertaining but deeply personal.

T.Town Boy’s ambition is clear: to put Tororo on the music map and surpass the success of artists like Keko. But he knows he can’t do it alone. He’s actively searching for a dedicated manager who believes in his talent, shares his vision, and can help him turn his dreams into reality.

Available on YouTube and Spotify, T.Town Boy is steadily growing his fanbase, one song at a time. His journey may have just begun, but his dedication, authenticity, and love for his culture make him a rising star to watch.

“Every song I release is a piece of me, a piece of Tororo,” he shares. “I want the world to know where I come from, and I’ll keep working until they do.”
