Media personality and musician Tuff B has addressed claims that he disrespected his former colleague Bebe Cool in an attempt to gain favour within the National Unity Platform (NUP).
The controversy arose after Tuff B missed out on the party’s nomination for the Makindye East MP seat, which was awarded to incumbent Ali Mulyanyama.
Speaking on the matter, Tuff B clarified that his comments comparing Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool were not meant to belittle anyone, but rather reflected his personal perspective.
“I have never woken up one day and disrespected Bebe Cool. But if you ask me who is better and I say they aren’t on the same level anymore, I’m not wrong,” he said.
The former Gagamel crew member elaborated on the differences between the two artists, emphasizing their distinct paths in life and leadership.
“Bobi and Bebe are so different now in how they think and handle things. One is selfless, another is selfish. Bobi Wine is leading a revolution, and I’ll say that any day,” Tuff B added.
He also urged the public to avoid judging Bobi Wine solely on his past as a musician, highlighting his evolution into a national leader.
“People need to see Bobi for who he is today. He has grown beyond his entertainment roots into a leader who is shaping the future of this nation,” he noted.
Tuff B’s remarks are likely to reignite debates about the shifting dynamics between Uganda’s music icons and their roles in the country’s political landscape.
