FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo has urged Uganda Cranes players to remain disciplined and focused as they compete in the ongoing CHAN 2025 tournament, reminding them of the significant financial rewards tied to performance — including $100 daily allowances and a UGX 1.2 billion State House bonus per win.
Magogo emphasized that players stand to earn more the longer they stay in camp and the more matches they win, describing the current structure as an opportunity to transform their lives financially.
“They earn $100 each day in camp, and there are additional bonuses for wins. What we want is for them to come out of this tournament with something meaningful,” said Magogo.
So far, Uganda Cranes have won two matches, unlocking a total of UGX 2.4 billion, or approximately UGX 92 million per player, from the presidential pledge. With 25 players in camp, the incentive structure has motivated strong performances as the team eyes further progression in the tournament.
The next challenge comes this Saturday, when Uganda faces Senegal in the quarter-finals. Victory would not only bring them closer to a historic CHAN title but also increase individual earnings significantly.
Magogo also addressed the importance of financial discipline, drawing lessons from past Uganda Cranes squads.
“Some players from the previous AFCON tournaments earned big, but they misused the money. Today, some of them are struggling. We want the current team to avoid that mistake.”
He further confirmed that all current players have been fully paid as per the agreed terms and that no payment-related disputes have been reported in camp — a testament to improved professionalism in the national team.
The recent victory over South Africa, hailed as the tournament’s most exciting match so far, may also attract additional bonuses, potentially from President Museveni, though no official confirmation has been made.
With Uganda Cranes riding high on form and morale, national expectations are soaring — and so is the financial motivation.
