Western Uganda Singer T-Paul 256 Recounts Frightening Experience at a Wedding Performance

Western Uganda-based musician T-Paul 256, real name Taremwa Paul, has opened up about one of the scariest and most embarrassing moments in his music career — a wedding performance that nearly turned into a nightmare.

While sharing personal career highlights and lowlights in a recent interview, T-Paul 256 recounted a tense incident that occurred during a traditional wedding (introduction) ceremony where he was booked to perform. According to the singer, due to unexpected delays, he arrived late at the venue, not knowing he was meant to perform at a critical moment in the ceremony.

“The bride had planned for me to sing while she stepped out to meet her guests, but I wasn’t there on time,” T-Paul narrated.

The delay didn’t sit well with the bride and her family, who are reportedly among the most influential in the country. In a shocking turn of events, T-Paul claims the bride locked him inside her house in anger. Things escalated when members of the family pulled out guns, intimidating the artist as tensions rose.

Despite the confrontation, T-Paul says he managed to stay calm. Eventually, he was asked to perform — in the middle of a heavy downpour.

“It was raining outside but they still called me to perform in the rain because they wanted to get the value of the money they had paid,” he said.

Despite the traumatic experience, T-Paul 256 continues to grow in popularity in Western Uganda, known for his energetic performances and unique Afrobeat sound.
