Why Spice Won’t Be Performing In Uganda This December

Jamaican dancehall superstar Spice, born Grace Latoya Hamilton, has officially pulled out of her highly anticipated Uganda concert, leaving fans disappointed just weeks to the event.

The show, dubbed “Spice: Queen of Dancehall – Live From Jamaica,” was scheduled to take place on December 6, 2025, at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala. Preparations were already underway, with several top Ugandan artistes announced on the lineup and promotions in high gear.

However, in a shocking turn of events, Spice took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that she will no longer be performing in Uganda.

Contractual Issues Force Spice to Withdraw

According to the self-proclaimed Queen of Dancehall, her decision to cancel was due to the promoter’s failure to honor the agreed contractual terms.

“ATTENTION!!! I will not be attending this event in Uganda on December 6th. I was truly excited and looking forward to meeting my brothers and sisters there, but unfortunately the promoter did not fulfill the contractual agreements,” Spice wrote.

The singer, known for global hits such as Go Down Deh, So Mi Like It, Round & Round, and many more, expressed regret over the cancellation, especially after months of anticipation from her East African fanbase.

Promoters Yet to Issue Official Statement

By press time, the event organisers had not released any official statement regarding the cancellation or ticket refunds. This has left fans uncertain about what will happen next, as many had already started making travel and accommodation arrangements for the December show.

Spice’s Kampala concert was expected to be one of the biggest international music events of the year, drawing revelers from across the region.

Kelele Uganda will continue to follow up on this story and provide updates as soon as the organisers address the matter.
