Ziza Bafana Dismisses Plans for 'Sitani Wenenye' Video with Jose Chameleone, Says the Moment Is Gone

Dancehall artist Ziza Bafana has officially put an end to fans’ hopes for a music video for his collaboration with legendary singer Jose Chameleone, titled Sitani Wenenye. Despite the song’s strong reception in audio form, Bafana has confirmed that there are no plans to shoot visuals for the project. Speaking in a recent media interview, Bafana opened up about the behind-the-scenes hurdles that led to the current standstill. According to him, the project started off with good intentions when he and Chameleone had planned to hit the studio together. However, things took an unexpected turn. “Chameleone recorded his verse first, and we left the studio before I could lay mine. To my surprise, he started performing his verse at shows and bars as freestyle versions,” Bafana revealed. “Every time he went out, he gave the song a different twist. It kept changing and eventually lost its original meaning.” The artist further explained that by the time he returned to the studio to complete the song, it was clear that Chameleone had drifted from the initial plan. Though the audio was later released, Bafana believes the song no longer holds the same energy it did at the start. When asked if fans should expect a video, the Pomini star made it clear that he had moved on: “I don’t think we’ll be shooting the video. The energy is gone. I’m just glad our fans at least got to enjoy the audio.” *Sitani Wenenye*, despite the lack of visuals, received considerable airplay and trended on streaming platforms when it dropped last year. Still, the absence of a video leaves a lingering sense of what could have been from one of the most unexpected musical pairings in recent years.
